We are Re-Opening Following Hurricane Ian
We are recovering one day at a time! We appreciate the Community's support as we addressed property issues. History Park has taken the brunt of this storm and clean-up was extensive with 310 volunteer hours by our Sunday Market Vendors and Volunteers. We are also grateful for Team Punta Gorda's Volunteers who put in two work days as well at the Park. The Sunday Market at History Park is Re-Opening on November 6th! Our Season opening of Music in the Park will begin Wednesday, November 9th with Dave Hevron & Friends. Please visit our Calendar of Events for the latest information.
The Woman's Club will Re-Open on October 31st and we welcome back our monthly classes and programs, and individuals who celebrate their occasions at our building.
Downtown Kava is back to regular business hours at the Train Depot!
We appreciate the support of our Community! Before Pictures are available for viewing on our Support the Society page.
A letter to our Vendors & Volunteers!

Our Three Properties have been affected by Hurricane Ian
We are recovering one day at a time! We need and appreciate the Community's support as we address property issues. History Park has taken the brunt of this storm and clean-up was extensive. The Sunday Market at History Park is closed for the remainder of October. Our Season opening of Music in the Park is delayed until November 9th, 2022.
We are aware of roof issues at the Woman's Club, Train Depot and at least 2 of our 4 buildings at History Park.. Without thorough inspections we haven't been able to identify the entire scope of work.
If you can donate your skills and time, please contact Sandy Moon, Executive Director at 118pghs@gmail.com. We'll respond as soon as we are able. If you can assist with a donation to accomplish some of the professional work required, you can donate on this website via PayPal or checks can be mailed to: PGHS, 118 Sullivan Street, Punta Gorda FL 33950.
Support the Society
Want to join us in supporting a good cause? We're raising money for the History Park- Punta Gorda, and the Woman's Club, and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. Your donations support the care and maintenance of our historic properties.
History Park is in need of park maintenance, building repairs and upkeep such as: new decking at the Price House, new siding for the Price House, tree removals, new sprinkler system. Updates at the Cigar Cottage, new Air Conditioning at the Trabue Land Sales office, exterior painting at the Quednau-Hindman House.
The Woman's Club has approximately $300,000 of restoration work that should be done to maintain and restore this building to its original glory in 1926. Projects include: upgrading the electrical; window restoration; repair restoration of the exterior of the building including soffit boards and lighting; as well as updating the interior while maintaining its historic designation.
Thank you for your support!
