Special Announcement

The Punta Gorda Historical Society is seeking Requests for Proposal to Lease the Cigar Cottage located within the Punta Gorda History Park. The tenant needs to qualify as an artisan, nonprofit organizations preferred, in alignment with the overall History Park theme as an “artisan village.”  The Cigar Cottage offers 400 available square footage for indoor usage. Tenants will have to upgrade both electric and AC/Heating in the building. Tenants have the opportunity to participate in the Sunday History Park Market and other Park-wide events. Interested individuals or entities should submit all proposals prior to December 31, 2023. The Punta Gorda Historical Society protects historic properties representing our diverse cultural experience by taking direct action and inspiring broad public support.


We are a privately funded nonprofit organization, working to preserve Punta Gorda’s historic homes and buildings. We are the cause that inspires others to preserve the places where history happened. The cause that connects us to our diverse pasts, weaving a multi-cultural area together. The cause that transforms the places where we live into a community that we love. As the leading voice for preservation, restoration, and education, we are the cause for people preserving historical homes and buildings.


Mission:  Our mission is to protect significant historic properties representing our diverse cultural experience by taking direct action and inspiring broad public support. And how do we do it? By fostering a deep sense of community, commitment, and passion for saving these historic houses and buildings.

What We Offer the Community

​

History Park Sunday Market & Artisan Village:  Every Sunday we host the Market from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at History Park, 501 Shreve St., Punta Gorda, FL  33950. Visit our Artisan Village featuring: Peace River Woodturners (Price House); Visual Arts Center - Fiber Arts (Quednau-Hindman House) and the SWFL Potters Guild in the Trabue Land Sales Office.

Music in the Park: 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. beginning November 8th, 2023 and ending on May 22nd, 2024.  Located at History Park, More information on our Events Page!

Rentals:  The Woman's Club offers Hall Rentals for every Occasion! Additional information is available under our About / Our Buildings Tab.
